Washington (JTN Special Report) President Biden will call Modi
US President Joe Biden will hold telephone talks with Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi on Ukraine on Monday. White House
sources said that the “neutrality” stance taken by India since the
start of the war between Russia and Ukraine was “surprising” and
“deeply troubling”.
=This is the second telephone conversation between the two leaders
On Monday, the US president intends to hold a telephone
conversation with the Indian prime minister on the issue. This is
going to be the second telephone contact between the two leaders
since March. In a recent statement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei
Lavrov praised India’s attitude, saying that it had examined the
situation as a whole, rather than examining it unilaterally. India also
abstained on Thursday from voting in a resolution suspending
Russia’s membership of the 417-member UN Human Rights Council.
=Biden will warn of negative effects on global food supply
White House spokeswoman Jane Sackie said in a recent briefing that
the US president would brief the Indian leader on the consequences
of the Russian aggression and its negative effects on the global food
